BrahMos, the deadliest missile in the world, is owned by India and Russia. Now, India is planning to introduce the world to BrahMos’ hypersonic version!
According to BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russia defence joint company, India will have its first hypersonic missiles in five to six years. BrahMos Aerospace’s ‘Silver Jubilee Year’ celebrations began on June 13, coinciding with India’s 75th anniversary of independence. “BrahMos Aerospace can produce hypersonic weapons. BrahMos will be able to produce our first hypersonic missile in five to six years,” Atul Rane, CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace, stated.
BrahMos has many mind-blowing features that make it the deadliest missile. The hypersonic version will be faster, and deadlier.
The hypersonic version of BrahMos is under development by BrahMos Aerospace Private Limited, a joint venture between India’s DRDO and Russia’s NPO Mashinostroyenia. The Zircon was created by no other than the NPOM. However, it should be noted that, while Zircon is designed to carry conventional warheads, it can also be fitted with nuclear warheads if necessary. It is unknown whether hypersonic BrahMos will be allowed to carry nuclear warheads.
While the BrahMos missile is a supersonic missile that sends shivers down the spines, the world will not be expecting India to launch hypersonic BrahMos.
